I consider this book as one of the best Sci-fi book i've ever read. I had fun reading this book, which made me imagine of Cat's great journey in life. I love the story plot, Heather Choate delivered the storyline in an understandable manner where readers like me will surely enjoy each chapter. I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants a new and great story.
A science fiction book that revolves around dystopian and the engaging charactercs of Cat,Derrick and other interesting characters of this book. Can't put the book down until the last page as the storyline was so interesting.The complexity of Cats character from being a human to swab and helping young ones was heroic.I have enjoyed reading this book.Gave it a 5 star for its great storyline.
great read! The author must have a really amazing imagination to be able to come up with such story. at the beginning part of the book I thought I will have hard time to imagine what swab is but upon reading it, realized I was able to visualize every scene. caught my self hooked up and wanting to read more of Heather Choate story. I sure will recommend this to my friends who also love scifi stories. )
I struggled with this sequel a little bit. I enjoyed the first part but I became overwhelmed with the second half. I felt that there was WAY too much information crammed into tiny part and then it was suddenly over. Might be better suited for teens, I'm not sure. I would have liked to see maybe a whole other book dedicated to expanding some of the story and details. Based on the feeling of the first book, I felt that the ending was a little bit too simple and didn't leave much to the imagination. Overall it was still an interesting story, and I think the author is a good writer.
This story is very interesting that it kept me up way pass when I should have put down the reader and slept. I really love Heather Choate's writing style and the plot of this story is as good as her other wonderful books. The story is written in such a way that it transports you into the story. There is no way to put it down until it is finished. The characters are very well made and developed through the story line.
A story about freedom and decisions set in dystopian situation. Since this is science fiction, it was first hard to imagine what a scarb is but the author was successful in providing a good illustration on what the life of Cat, Derrick, Nate and the rest of the characters are. It was a pretty long book but science fiction fans won't mind reading through their predicaments, adventures and successes. It is a combination of drama and action that would definitely interest readers. A book worthy of time and money.
This was big let down from the first book in the series.
Gone were the imaginative creatures and abilities. Gone were the interesting story lines.
This story had only 2 real story lines, and neither of them were interesting to me. One was about who the girl will love, and the other is about how to turn down the affections of a supreme being. Neither were handled well, and I personally can't stand wishy-washy heroines who can't decide who they love more. If a male character did the same thing, he would be viewed as insincere at best or a womanizer at worst. If it's not allowed for a male hero, why should it be acceptable for a woman? How would anyone like to be told or find out that the love of their life was only half sure that they really liked them?
The second story line was resolved in such a way that it made the entire story completely pointless.
There are also 2 "twists" in the story and I immediately knew what they would be as soon as the characters involving those twists were introduced. I found it to be very predictable, unlike the first book.
